Finance Series #8
Signed into law this Spring, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act is intended to encourage funding of U.S. small businesses by easing various securities regulations. The panel addressed various options for funding, including going public, seeking venture capital, and the latest tactic – crowdfunding.
The demand for clean energy and energy efficiency products, services, and solutions is rising rapidly in multiple international markets, presenting opportunities for New England companies competing in the clean energy space. The panelists addressed issues relevant to entrepreneurs wishing to sell and market their services in other countries.
The final networking event in the Leading Clean Energy Ventures Program celebrated the Fellows’ achievements this year.

Clean Energy Transmission Summit

This event, co-sponsored by the Conservation Law Foundation and Americans for a Clean Energy Grid explored the challenges the region faces in upgrading its electricity grid to prepare for an increasing amount of renewable energy.

Doing Business with the Department of Defense

This October 19th event was hosted by Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, in partnership with the New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC), on Department of Defense procurement opportunities for clean energy companies.
Attendees heard from experienced business executives as well as DoD officials about the latest green acquisition mandates, what's happening locally on green procurement, and learned how you can find and access contracting opportunities.

2010 CEO D.C. Fly-in
May 11-12, 2010
Each spring, the Council brings a group of C-level executives and investors to Washington D.C. for a series of meetings on Capitol Hill and with executive agencies. On May 11th and 12th 2010, the Council successfully executed its second annual CEO D.C. Fly-in. More than 50 executives and investors participated in meetings with Congressional Members from both parties and both chambers, as well as with officials from the Department of Energy and the Department of Commerce.
