Lucent Wastewater Solutions was selected by a jury that included experts from corporations such as Intel, Archer Daniels Midland, IBM, Ecolab and Syngenta as well as McKinsey, CH2M Hill, Carollo Engineers and Singapore’s Public Utilities Board.

Lucent Wastewater Solutions, a Massachusetts-based technology company established in 2006, is at the intersection of two strong investing themes, water and clean technology. The company has the potential to deliver disruptive technology that will change the economic and sustainability dynamics in the $5B industrial wastewater treatment sector.  Plans are underway to open satellite offices in southern Illinois, California’s Central Valley, southern Oregon, Texas, and South Carolina.  Markets include, large food and beverage processors/ large agriculture including; cattle, swine, turkey, chicken/ Wood and Pulp which takes in paper and cardboard mfg./ large pharmaceuticals/ (corn, sugar, switch grass, soy, etc.) ethanol processing plants/ and currently in the planning stage municipalities.

Lucent Wastewater Solutions is about the profitable commercialization of a multi-module, highly scalable bio-reactor called a Microbial Fuel Cell used in wastewater management; it effectively reduces pollution to meet local regulation, inhibits the production of the potent green house gas Methane, inhibits sludge, produces renewable “alternative energy” in the form of electricity or hydrogen, all with no energy input. Compared to current technology it is 80% less in capital cost, 250% smaller in size, enables “Go Green” PR by shrinking carbon footprint, increases bottom line profits by slashing operational cost.
