It started when Peter Vandermuelen’s wife suggested that he invent something.
He had recently closed out a start-up company and was figuring out what to do next. Given his background in the semiconductor industry, Vandermuelen’s wife suggested finding a way to make solar energy feasible and affordable.
At first it seemed like a tall order. But then Vandermuelen got the idea to use a salt solution to develop panels that could provide heating and air conditioning as well as electricity. He created 7 Solar Technologies a year ago to work on the idea.
