2010 Q1 - Adoption Update
Developers’ Roundtable Series
In December 2009 and March 2010, the Council convened two full-day meetings of clean energy developers where participants engaged in facilitated discussions about the challenges facing developers in New England. The Council solicited feedback from the dozens of developers participating and compiled a list of policy priorities which will be used to shape the Council’s federal and state advocacy efforts. Already, the Council has, among other actions, submitted comments to FERC regarding the subsidization of power lines from the Midwest; and discussed regulatory compliance with key state actors in Massachusetts. The Council’s dialogue with developers will continue as we digest the feedback from our March session of the Roundtable.
Governor’s Clean Energy Challenge
With the Governor’s Clean Energy Challenge now in its second year, participants are ramping up efforts to meet the program’s ambitious goals. Utility sponsors have renewed their commitment to the Challenge and the Council recently added a new staff member to assist in managing the program.
The goals for the 2010 Challenge include driving 2009 enrollees into active energy efficiency projects, and enrolling as many as 150 new participants by year-end.
