Title: Geothermal Heat Pumps: Concept to Completion - UMass Amherst Continuing and Professional Education Series

Industry sector: Energy efficiency

Kevin Maher, managing member of Thermonexus, will be presenting at this 2 day workshop designed to teach various clean energy and environmental professionals about considerations needed to effectively and efficiently design the earth side of GSHP installations to meet state regulations and Massachusetts business needs.

Geothermal and ground water heat pumps are an important part of any renewable energy portfolio, but they are often overlooked while wind and solar garner all of the attention. Yet it is Geothermal/GSHP's that provide reliable baseload thermal energy, are readily deployable throughout the region without the encumbrances of extensive permitting, and have the ability to make a significant impact for sustainability.
