Boston-Power, Inc., is currently seeking two highly enthusiastic and productive Associate Scientists to provide their expertise in the research and development of advanced lithium-ion batteries. This is a hands-on laboratory role that will expose you to a wide variety of techniques across Boston-Power’s novel technology and products. You will work with talented, fun people across several scientific disciplines and will transition seamlessly between individual and team-based assignments. This is an excellent opportunity to further strengthen your skills and experience in experimental methods and data analysis in a growing team within fast-paced and dynamic pre-IPO company.

Responsibilities:
•Construct small batteries that meet predefined specifications;
•Prepare written and oral reports to engineering teams;
•Conduct electrochemical testing, analyze results, present conclusions, and recommend next steps;
•Collect and document data and findings to support research and intellectual property efforts;
•Determine physical properties by thermal, moisture, surface area, and other analyses;
•Support inventory control and laboratory safety/environmental efforts.

Qualifications:
•BS degree in the physical sciences, with degrees in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or related fields desired;
•Working knowledge of experimental methods, detailed record keeping and data analysis;
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required;
•Previous experience working in an industrial lab environment a plus;
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
•Knowledge of statistics and the ability to interpret experimental data to summarize the key findings.
