Boston-Power, Inc., is currently seeking a seasoned automotive industry expert to lead our efforts in developing battery technology and products for automotive applications. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, this is a key role in broadening the product portfolio and value proposition for a fast-paced and dynamic pre-IPO company. You will have broad responsibility to develop and implement our automotive technology strategy, including market segmentation and customer identification, to integrate and commercialize battery packs in automotive systems. You will partner closely with talented, motivated people across R&D, Sales, and Marketing. Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement the Company’s automotive strategy;
•Effectively interface with automotive companies and suppliers, government authorities, environmental groups, and other stakeholders in the automotive space;
•Interface with R&D efforts on system integration, management of vehicular electro-mechanical sub-systems, and power electronics that meet the needs of automotive suppliers and consumers;
•Develop close working relationships with senior executives to ensure alignment with corporate goals and objectives;
•Hire and develop top talent to continue building a culture consistent with Boston-Power’s values.
Qualifications:
•MBA, PhD, or equivalent experience in engineering, business management, or related field;
•At least 10 years of experience in the automotive industry;
•In-depth knowledge of current state of HEV/PHEV efforts and interest among large and small companies in the automotive industry;
•Experience in electronics, powertrain technology, automotive computer systems, crash compliance, emissions compliance, and/or automotive auxiliary power systems is a plus;
•Proven track record of organizational leadership and delivering results within a complex, international business model;
•Ability to analyze and develop strategies to capitalize on consumer, technology, business, government, and other forces impacting global automotive markets;
•Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills required.
