Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality Home Energy Ratings:
Review of construction blueprints
REM/Rate software energy modeling
Builder/Developer consulting and guidance on energy efficiency and green design
Conduct site visits to collect data for consulting and Home Energy Rating projects on existing buildings
Perform inspections through various stages of new construction process as part of delivery of Home Energy Ratings, LEED certification and Energy Star Home certification. Diagnostic testing includes the use of blower door and duct blaster equipment, mechanical ventilation balancing equipment, and HVAC commissioning.
Assist with builder and subcontractor outreach and education
Perform technical trainings to subcontractors in support of energy efficiency and green specifications
Additional duties as determined
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in new home construction. HERS Rater certification a plus. Candidate will be required to pass the HERS Rater certification within three months of hiring.
3-5 years experience with blower door and duct blaster diagnostics, HVAC systems and/or IAQ assessment
Proven ability to learn and process technical information from many different sources-- new products, services and measures are regularly introduced into the program
Ability to communicate technical concepts to builders, homebuyers and trades people
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; training on REM/Rate software a plus
Excellent interpersonal, writing, verbal communication and reporting skills
Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Local, regional (and potentially national) travel is anticipated. Successful candidate must have access to a personal vehicle to cover the assigned territory. Successful candidate must be available to travel at least 2 weeks per year outside of the New England area.
BA/BS preferred
Ongoing training and education will be provided to keep staff current on latest industry developments
A current and valid driver's license, clean driving record and no DUIs
