The Position
The position is responsible to lead the mechanical maintenance workforce to deliver high quality equipment service utilizing daily/weekly maintenance schedules in an effort to minimize emergency work while achieving the highest degree of equipment reliability in a most cost effective manner. The position is responsible to provide necessary functional leadership and technical support to continuously improve the plants equipment integrity, reliability, cost and on stream factor. The position is responsible to foster a climate where the focus of the work force is centered on safety and team growth.

Responsibilities
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but are not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
•Management of all maintenance activities.
•Prepare and administer the Annual Maintenance routine and Major Maintenance budgets.
•Actively participate in the safety programs, promote and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
•Maximizes efficiency, productivity and capability of the maintenance work force.
•Identifies department systematic opportunities for improvements and assists employees in subsequent improvement efforts.
•Direct and administrate the Maintenance Resources to meet and exceed all safety, health and environmental regulations, and Corporate Group requirements.
•Direct the Reliability program within the hub in a manner which will continually improve plant equipment integrity, reliability, cost, and on stream factor.
•Drive the identification of root cause of equipment/machinery failures and develop appropriate repair solutions to reduce reoccurrence of, or eliminate, if possible, cause of failure.
•Ensure the development of sound preventative/predictive/and integrity maintenance programs that reduces unplanned shutdowns and ultimately enhances overall Plants profitability and product quality.
•Coordinate implementation of modifications of Pilot Plant facilities
•Implement best practices, change management, and standardization of maintenance systems and work processes across the plants in the area of responsibility.
•Periodically evaluate program’s effectiveness and modify accordingly to insure optimum reliability/cost benefits are maintained.
•Evaluate personnel performance levels.
•Promote an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and timely problem resolutions.
•Achieve compliance with all procedures, standards, specifications, and codes, federal and statutory requirements.
•Participate in short and long range planning and execution of essential programs, turnarounds, and processes.

Experience/Education
•8-10 yrs. direct in-plant maintenance experience required
•3-5 yrs. minimum supervisory experience preferred
•Responsible to implement and manage safety work processes
•Knowledge of computer based maintenance planning and management system
Skills
The Maintenance Supervisor requires an individual with strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent broad based technical skills and good business sense. Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential to the position. A track record of success in Safety, Reliability, Quality, and employee involvement and an ability to promote/develop maintenance excellence is desired.
