The Position
Responsible for the assembly of all mechanical components given the supplied mechanical drawings. Also to perform testing, debugging, installing, and repairing of all mechanical equipment in the facility.
Responsibilities
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but are not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
•Demonstrate ability to read/interpret technical documentation/sketches, understand specifications and work within tolerances as well as produce components from verbal descriptions.
•Demonstrate the ability to apply mathematics in the machine tool trade (speeds, feeds, thread measurement, etc.).
•Demonstrate ability to machine components from common materials (e.g. aluminum, stainless steel etc.).
•Successful applicant will have a strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work independently/as a team member, solid communication skills, as well as problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
•Read and interpret technical documentation, especially P&ID’s
•Estimating: Project labor, materials, and schedule
•Sheet metal fabrication
•Welding-tig, mig, stick or orbital welding of ultra-pure systems
•Proficiency with machining operations of tool room type operations – including CNC equipment
•Perform disassembly and assembly of worn, broken or damaged parts
•Help install and implement design changes in the equipment
•Assist in bringing new equipment on line
•Identify and coordinate mechanical items that need attention
•Repair mechanical equipment such as valves, actuators, vent gas blowers, chokes and air compressors, heat, ventilation and air conditioning/air handlers, etc.
•Conduct parts research and ordering, as well as work coordination with other projects and crafts.
•Provide technical advice, quality control, problem-solving, troubleshooting and repair recommendations.
•Manage customer and vendor interface, task completion, post-job meetings and writing of final reports.
•Ensure safety and environmental compliance
•Operate and provide safe practices through the operations integrity assurance systems and its components and understand consequences of equipment failure and repair errors.
•Respond to emergency needs in the facilities and bring to completion any jobs requiring repair.
•Recognize, troubleshoot, predict and identify equipment problems and obtain any necessary support.
•Respond to emergencies or changes in priorities.

•Associate degree desirable in at least one of the required skills/trades along with 5 years work experience.
•Experience with process systems/applications and related equipment.
•Communication (written & verbal) and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
•Perform task/project work at a high level of independence
