The Position
This position provides necessary technical and hands-on support to continuously improve plant instrumentation, electrical and DCS equipment integrity, reliability, cost and on stream factor, and is responsible for maintaining/troubleshooting and calibration of electronic and digital process control equipment, related loop equipment, electric motors and control circuitry.

Responsibilities
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but are not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
•Read blueprints, P&ID’s, single-lines, ladder logic, and wiring schematics.
•Repair and troubleshoot analog and discrete instrument loops.
•Lift 50 lbs.
•Effectively use typical test and calibration equipment, including pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, mA calibrators, T/C calibrators, digital and analog multi-meters, meggers, and laptops for equipment communication.
•Follow step by step calibration procedures.
•Use computerized systems to enter and retrieve data.
•Repair and troubleshoot 480 VAC 3 phase motor starter circuits as well as 120 VAC control circuits.
•Troubleshoot PLC problems through knowledge of PLC logic and operations.
•Work with and troubleshoot the following:
•Pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring equipment
•Pneumatic Controls
•Chart recorders
•Water analytical equipment, including pH/ORP, Conductivity
•Solenoids
•Limit & Proximity Switches
•Honeywell ST3000 smart instrumentation
•Rosemount smart pressure transmitters
•Micro Motion Coriolis Flow Meters
•Siemens DCS system or at least some familiarity with hardware
•Fisher Control Valves and System 9000 Smart Valves
•Valtek Control Valves
•Jamesbury Actuators/Valves
•Worcester Actuators/Valves
•Hytork Actuators
•Honeywell Modutrol Motors
•Asco Solenoids
•Westlock Limit Switches

Qualifications

•High school diploma/GED
•2 year instrumentation and/or electrical trade school degree
•4 years of I&E experience
•Must have the ability to troubleshoot/repair a variety of field instrumentation using appropriate tools and test equipment.
•Must have some knowledge in DCS, and PLC systems and knowledgeable of SMART instrumentation, and have solid experience with devices used for process measurement and control.
•Very detailed oriented and willing to document details appropriately.
•Significant troubleshooting skills for 4-20mA loops and 120 VAC control circuits.
•Experience utilizing Lock Tag and Try, Confined Space Procedures.
•Strict safety programs adherence philosophy.
•The ideal candidate must be a team player with good communication skills, have a positive attitude, have a focus on safety and be self-motivated. Candidate must be able to lift a 60 lb load.
