Growth
The Council seeks to ensure that established clean energy companies have every opportunity to grow and thrive within the region, and to ensure that as many as possible choose to locate the bulk of their facilities here in New England.

Through our CEO Council, we regularly convene 40-50 CEOs of leading clean energy companies in the region, helping each to understand the programs available to support their growth, and exploring ways to remove obstacles to their success.

Washington D.C. Fly-in for CEOs
On April 1st and 2nd, 2009, the Council sent 65 CEOs, Investors and Sponsors to Capitol Hill to introduce several policy proposals to advance innovative clean energy technologies, encourage rapid deployment of renewable energy projects and accelerate development and deployment of energy efficiency resources.

In addition to hearing from Representative Edward Markey (MA-7), Carol Browner (Assistant for the President for Energy/Climate Change) and Gerry Waldron (staff director of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming), the Council's delegation met with New England Representatives, key committee members and a variety of officials from the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. A detailed report on the policy initiatives proposed by the CEO delegation can be found on the Policy Page. Pictures of the Fly-in can be found here.

The Council is organizing a 2010 D.C. Fly-in for CEOs within the cluster. Dates will be announced shortly.

CEO Council "D.C. Double-Play"
This two event series aims to provide cleantech CEOs and senior executives with critical insight on navigating federal funding opportunities and impacting federal policy.

The first event, a panel of CEOs discussing their experiences with federal policy, took place on December 16, 2009.

The second event will take place in D.C. on April 5, 2010.

Finance Series
In 2010 the Council is organizing a series of events designed specifically for clean energy financial executives. It will address such topics as how to manage federal dollars (for those pursuing or receiving federal grants or loans), strategies for financing demonstration projects, and best practices for pursuing grants and low-interest loans.
