Adoption
The Council’s Adoption Task Force will concentrate its efforts on increasing the adoption of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) across New England. The task force will consider a range of activities and programs to achieve these goals, including but not limited to, educational programs, policy initiatives, mentoring programs, and partnerships. The task force is comprised of EE/RE company executives (suppliers), utility executives, investors, consultants, and sustainability officers of non-energy businesses.

Developers' Roundtable
The aim of this program is to gain a better understanding of the core challenges faced by the New England developer community, so that the Council can, in turn, work with developers to deliver the right signals and messages to policy-makers and help facilitate positive change.

The program will involve two one-day meetings. The format of both events is simply a facilitated dialogue in a boardroom setting; the intent is to involve developers with the greatest potential for materially increasing the installed renewable power capacity to meet the RPS objectives.

Governor's Clean Energy Challenge
First announced by Governor Patrick at the Council's 2008 Green Tie Gala, the Governor’s Clean Energy Challenge is a groundbreaking opportunity for businesses and organizations in the Commonwealth to take the lead in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 10% over the next three years. The Challenge will enable up to 25 large and 100 small companies and organizations to increase their energy efficiency through free energy use analyses, onsite energy assessments, access to efficiency and renewables vendors who have experience identifying savings and managing projects and reimbursement for up to 30%-70% of project costs from utility providers.

The Council, in collaboration with the Governor's Office, the Massachusetts High Technology Council, NSTAR, National Grid, Western Massachusetts Electric, Unitil, Associated Industries of Massachusetts, Cape Light Compact and the Mass High Tech Journal of New England Technology, launched the Governor's Clean Energy Challenge at the GCEC Conference and Expo on May 12th, 2009.
